NAVIGATION
Evocate is a teamnesia-inspired game where relationship building and strengthening already existing bonds are just as important as fighting to keep your memories and figuring out just what the heck is going on in this strange world.
Please feel free to look at the information posted already and ask questions you're curious about on the FAQ! But most importantly, have some fun with some of the things that'll become normal to you in the Domed City.
Welcome to Domed City #77, a place you'll become very familiar with as it's now where you'll live out the rest of your days while waiting for the Evocated to drain you of your memories. Sounds great, right?
A: ARRIVAL
When you open your eyes, you find yourself laying in a bright white room, reminiscent of a hospital room. In fact, as you sit up and look around, you see other beds - hospital beds. Some made neatly, others a mess, and one that has a suspicious stain on it which is probably fine.
How did you get here? Where are you? All important questions you're likely asking yourself!
As you stand up, you feel something brush against your neck. You find a necklace with a small, round pendant attached to it. Turning it over reveals that your name has been etched into the other side. It's yours! Which is why, no matter what you try, you can't remove it.
Stepping out into the hallway reveals a myriad of different signs, all guiding you towards the exit. They're cheerful, written in crayon and with cute little doodles.
Through the glass doors you go, something beeping as you do, and you step out into the street of a small city.
There may be others stepping out with you at the same time too! Weird, right?
If you were injured - or dead - in some way at the point you're being taken from, then your wounds have been healed up to 50%.
B. THE HOTEL
At one point during the day, you all end up in the hotel lobby like you've been compelled to go there. A gentle compulsion, almost apologetic.
The hotel itself is old-fashioned with modern highlights, and it appears to have been renovated and set up for you and all of your new friends to live in! Isn't that great?
Once everyone has gathered, there's a loud crack of thunder and above you, a portal opens up and spits out a young woman. She lands with a yelp and whines, rubbing her hip.

You could have WARNED me!!
A pause. She lets out a little squeak and scrambles to her feet when she sees everyone.
![]()
oh geez they didn't say you were here already H-Hi! And welcome to Domed City #77! We um, we don't call it using the numbers but I would think people would want to know them anyway!![]()
Err, right, you probably want to know what's going on. Which is a really good question! The, er, people in charge gave me something to read to you that might answer it.
She clears her throat and takes on a more announcing tone of voice as she pulls a piece of paper from her pocket to read.
"Welcome and rejoice, little memoirs, for you have been given the honor of offering your memories to our great entity, the Evocated. We thank you for your sacrifi-" EH?!![]()
![]()
N-Now wait just a minute, this doesn't expl—
Another crack of thunder interrupts her and the portal returns, only this time it's underneath her. Her protests turn into a scream as she falls in, then cut off as the portal closes back up and innocently disappears.
Sometime between her appearance and disappearance, two more people have appeared behind the welcome desk. They appear to be working on . . . pamphlets? The teen girl gives you a cheerful little wave, like nothing weird just happened at all.
![]()
Welcome to Hotel - umm, it doesn't have a name yet, but we're working on it! And taking suggestions!
That woman will be back soon, so give it some time and she'll have more information with her.![]()
They seem pretty calm about it, so it must be fine!
The girl tells you that you're welcome to explore the hotel while you wait. Only the first floor is open for exploration right now, but there's plenty to see! And it does seem like it's been prepared for you, everything is clean and tidy, just as one would expect from a fancy-looking place like this.
The young man nods in agreement, then speaks up again.
< isopods >
You'll want to acquaint yourself with the main street too. But whatever you do, don't go further than the park up north.![]()
C. EXPLORATION
So, you decided to go further than the park up north.
It's like walking into a faint mist; but the air feels stale at first, like it's been still for a long time. The wind seems to follow you, pushing the stale air away from you and it sounds -
It almost sounds like someone is breathing out, a sigh that joins the wind ruffling your clothes.
North past the park are commercial buildings and factories, a once bustling business district. The supermarket is located here, stocked and ready to accept customers! Even if there isn't anyone to check you out. Hey, how are you gonna pay for that?
East from the park the city opens up into something more rural, meadows on either side of the road with flowers slowly blooming, as though your arrival has given them life. Further ahead is a forest . . . that does not look as welcoming as the flowers are. An uneasy feeling blooms in you the closer you get. You can't see too far in, but the flowers along the road here begin to wilt, like your presence alone is killing them. The flowering district can't seem to make up its mind whether to welcome or reject you.
West, the businesses thin out until you hit a set of apartment buildings on either side of the road. Further on, you start seeing houses and condos as you enter the residential district. None of the doors are open, but maybe you'll be lucky and find a window that might be unlocked . . . ?
But be careful; you were warned away from these parts for a reason.
D. WILDCARD
If you were foolish enough to run into what lurks out there, or you simply need healing because you came in a mess, then you have two options:
- One, you can reenter the hospital and search for supplies. More than one person can enter at once, so it seems like only your first exit is solo.
- Or two, you can figure out how to open the doors behind the welcome desk in the hotel. If you look bad the girl will gasp and point you there, but - well, how do you unlock the doors? You'll have to figure it out, but the girl offering to hold your hand might be a hint.
Or maybe you simply want to do something else entirely. Feel free to come up with your own prompts!
Some quick notes:
I'll start accepting applications on November 15, while the game is set to open up on November 28.

no. one cannot make sense of it. thus it must be discarded.]
You babble as one who is mad. I suppose I should not expect more from stuffed game.
no subject
[ Emphasizing this with a leg thump on "immaculately"!! HOW DARE!! ]
no subject
There’s barely enough pelt on you to make a single glove.
no subject
Haaa, why bother with gloves? Aren't your hands bloody enough?
no subject
Indeed. They’re stained down to the bone.
no subject
So what do you do when there's nobody here to fight? Just innocent little jackalopes to chat with, hmmm?
no subject
I do not know. …I thought death would be the end.
no subject
Not hardly! Death is something that happens to everybody. Oh, sure it's the end in that you can't do anything anymore... not unless you were around powerful forces that could resurrect you or bring you back before the moment of death, all of which exist~
But it's not your ending. The culmination of your actions, your epitaph, whatever kind of afterlife is popular where you're from. Green fields? Pearly gates?
no subject
They say the faithful are rewarded, and brought into the embrace of the Goddess… while those who transgress against her burn forever in the eternal flames.
And so I should rightly burn. Yet there is no fire in sight.
no subject
So what made you want to transgress against a Goddess? Did she tell you to let a puppy die?
no subject
It was not a want. The dead demanded it.
And so I slaughtered men, without mercy. I lied and stole, I tortured, and I desecrated their bodies. All in service of a revenge I could not accomplish.
no subject
Hoo, did these dead people make these demands while they were alive? Or was it your ideals of what they deserved that made you choose this path?
no subject
So I listened to them. No one else would.
no subject
Isn't it interesting how so many who act on behalf of those with no agency tend to go a little overboard? Almost like once they stop being able to talk for themselves, their avengers forget how to pump the breaks and ask if it's a little too far. Even for the dead crying out for revenge, maybe they'd say something like "I draw the line at seventeen village massacres!"
no subject
[he sounds very sure of this point. then, a pause. he grows-- distracted, even distressed. his voice is hoarse as he addresses the empty air.]
There's nothing more I can do, now. Why must you harry me still? Are my failures so great that you will not welcome me even in death?
no subject
[ Hops over to look around and see if there's anything else of interest around. Or even a drinking fountain. He'd take a trough at this point just to see if he could splash water on the stinky feral milksop. ]
You know there's plenty of things you can do. Besides dying! I suspect if you try to off yourself you'll just get thrown back here but somehow even dirtier. These Evocated don't want blood, they want memories.
no subject
Then they can have them. They can have them all.
[on instinct, he's been heading to where nature is densest - which takes them to the park! a water fountain flows at the center of square, crisp and clean. the bleeding man stops nearby, scanning their surroundings for any possible threats. force of habit.]
no subject
Hmm, I wonder if this one works like the pasture. You wouldn't happen to have a coin with you? Maybe you could get your wish~
no subject
anyways, the bloodied man has no idea what you're talking about.]
Foolish prattling... from a toy...
no subject
[ Or that any small child would love this annoying mf'er enough to make him feel real? ]
Listen, I've been in a place like this before. The pasture also had a fountain, and throwing coins you earned in this place could have some interesting results. Like talking to ghosts or reviving the dead.
no subject
There is no reviving the dead.
[he notably does not contradict the talking to ghosts part, though!!!!]
no subject
Hehehe! It's actually one of the easier things to do. Getting them to confront their crimes is the hard part. I don't bother with ghosts, as specters they're too stuck in their last moments to really show any kind of reflection.
[ Get it? Because ghosts usually are see through and not always able to be viewed in mirrors and the like. ]
no subject
he drags his gaze away from the stuffed animal, disdainfully. with a halting gesture, he reaches out to... something. that's not there. but then his hand falls, dejected.]
--I know... I know well the agony you've been tapped in... But - why do you remain ghosts to me still?
no subject
[ Says the talking rabbit. Which you should listen to, Alice did. ]
Ah, but if they're real ghosts it's probably because whatever plane of existence you've been dragged onto, it's not one they share. So you might want to start paying attention to those of us who can interact with you. Otherwise you'll be stuck here~
no subject
but the rest of it, he seems to internalize. his voice is creaky when he finally reasons,]
So... then, this truly is hell. That's the only reason... the reason why I did not join them.
