NAVIGATION
Evocate is a teamnesia-inspired game where relationship building and strengthening already existing bonds are just as important as fighting to keep your memories and figuring out just what the heck is going on in this strange world.
Please feel free to look at the information posted already and ask questions you're curious about on the FAQ! But most importantly, have some fun with some of the things that'll become normal to you in the Domed City.
Welcome to Domed City #77, a place you'll become very familiar with as it's now where you'll live out the rest of your days while waiting for the Evocated to drain you of your memories. Sounds great, right?
A: ARRIVAL
When you open your eyes, you find yourself laying in a bright white room, reminiscent of a hospital room. In fact, as you sit up and look around, you see other beds - hospital beds. Some made neatly, others a mess, and one that has a suspicious stain on it which is probably fine.
How did you get here? Where are you? All important questions you're likely asking yourself!
As you stand up, you feel something brush against your neck. You find a necklace with a small, round pendant attached to it. Turning it over reveals that your name has been etched into the other side. It's yours! Which is why, no matter what you try, you can't remove it.
Stepping out into the hallway reveals a myriad of different signs, all guiding you towards the exit. They're cheerful, written in crayon and with cute little doodles.
Through the glass doors you go, something beeping as you do, and you step out into the street of a small city.
There may be others stepping out with you at the same time too! Weird, right?
If you were injured - or dead - in some way at the point you're being taken from, then your wounds have been healed up to 50%.
B. THE HOTEL
At one point during the day, you all end up in the hotel lobby like you've been compelled to go there. A gentle compulsion, almost apologetic.
The hotel itself is old-fashioned with modern highlights, and it appears to have been renovated and set up for you and all of your new friends to live in! Isn't that great?
Once everyone has gathered, there's a loud crack of thunder and above you, a portal opens up and spits out a young woman. She lands with a yelp and whines, rubbing her hip.

You could have WARNED me!!
A pause. She lets out a little squeak and scrambles to her feet when she sees everyone.
![]()
oh geez they didn't say you were here already H-Hi! And welcome to Domed City #77! We um, we don't call it using the numbers but I would think people would want to know them anyway!![]()
Err, right, you probably want to know what's going on. Which is a really good question! The, er, people in charge gave me something to read to you that might answer it.
She clears her throat and takes on a more announcing tone of voice as she pulls a piece of paper from her pocket to read.
"Welcome and rejoice, little memoirs, for you have been given the honor of offering your memories to our great entity, the Evocated. We thank you for your sacrifi-" EH?!![]()
![]()
N-Now wait just a minute, this doesn't expl—
Another crack of thunder interrupts her and the portal returns, only this time it's underneath her. Her protests turn into a scream as she falls in, then cut off as the portal closes back up and innocently disappears.
Sometime between her appearance and disappearance, two more people have appeared behind the welcome desk. They appear to be working on . . . pamphlets? The teen girl gives you a cheerful little wave, like nothing weird just happened at all.
![]()
Welcome to Hotel - umm, it doesn't have a name yet, but we're working on it! And taking suggestions!
That woman will be back soon, so give it some time and she'll have more information with her.![]()
They seem pretty calm about it, so it must be fine!
The girl tells you that you're welcome to explore the hotel while you wait. Only the first floor is open for exploration right now, but there's plenty to see! And it does seem like it's been prepared for you, everything is clean and tidy, just as one would expect from a fancy-looking place like this.
The young man nods in agreement, then speaks up again.
< isopods >
You'll want to acquaint yourself with the main street too. But whatever you do, don't go further than the park up north.![]()
C. EXPLORATION
So, you decided to go further than the park up north.
It's like walking into a faint mist; but the air feels stale at first, like it's been still for a long time. The wind seems to follow you, pushing the stale air away from you and it sounds -
It almost sounds like someone is breathing out, a sigh that joins the wind ruffling your clothes.
North past the park are commercial buildings and factories, a once bustling business district. The supermarket is located here, stocked and ready to accept customers! Even if there isn't anyone to check you out. Hey, how are you gonna pay for that?
East from the park the city opens up into something more rural, meadows on either side of the road with flowers slowly blooming, as though your arrival has given them life. Further ahead is a forest . . . that does not look as welcoming as the flowers are. An uneasy feeling blooms in you the closer you get. You can't see too far in, but the flowers along the road here begin to wilt, like your presence alone is killing them. The flowering district can't seem to make up its mind whether to welcome or reject you.
West, the businesses thin out until you hit a set of apartment buildings on either side of the road. Further on, you start seeing houses and condos as you enter the residential district. None of the doors are open, but maybe you'll be lucky and find a window that might be unlocked . . . ?
But be careful; you were warned away from these parts for a reason.
D. WILDCARD
If you were foolish enough to run into what lurks out there, or you simply need healing because you came in a mess, then you have two options:
- One, you can reenter the hospital and search for supplies. More than one person can enter at once, so it seems like only your first exit is solo.
- Or two, you can figure out how to open the doors behind the welcome desk in the hotel. If you look bad the girl will gasp and point you there, but - well, how do you unlock the doors? You'll have to figure it out, but the girl offering to hold your hand might be a hint.
Or maybe you simply want to do something else entirely. Feel free to come up with your own prompts!
Some quick notes:
I'll start accepting applications on November 15, while the game is set to open up on November 28.

his one eye meets hers. she's not as he remembered... not Goddess-touched, no sign of a miracle in her colour. what this meant, he did not know. perhaps blessings did not follow you in death. perhaps she's simply from another time.]
Would all this have happened, if you had been there... it is too late to say. Not even you could halt the flames of your student's war.
no subject
... ?!
[If she had been—where? She had been with them all. That ...doesn't make sense. How could it? There has been unrest with the western church, but that couldn't devolve like this. No, the knights have been quashing that without mercy.
So then what?
Time is the only answer. It makes no sense, but just look at him. Time has been unkind to him. War has ravaged his being, apparently. Yet somehow she doubts that she can turn back time far enough to understand]
War?
no subject
[suddenly he looks so tired, like the act of simply existing is an unbearable weight pressing down on his shoulders.]
I do not know how you have come to be here, as you are. It seems foolish to think that it is merely because I wished it to be so... The year is 1185. Edelgard's war has raged for five years now.
no subject
Edelgard? Did this?
[ A long pause]
Did something happen?
no subject
Did you ever suspect, professor? When you were teaching her, did any part of your heart imagine that she could have been the Flame Emperor?
Fódlan burns now, in her war against the Church, and Faerghus is lost.
no subject
Hold on... The Flame Emperor? Then, Edelgard... ?!
[she needs a moment. Stupid sexy time differential]
no subject
he was done.
and it all felt hollow.]
Yes. It had always been her.
no subject
But why?
no subject
What spills blood more easily than righteousness?
no subject
It isn't righteous.
no subject
he looks away, suddenly seized with shame masquerading as loathing.]
What it is no longer matters. We met upon the field of battle - she lives, and I am dead.
no subject
That can't be...
no subject
Now the question is… how are you here, in the land of the dead?
no subject
I never died.
[he won't mind if professor is just quiet a moment and making a sad-ish face.]
But you said something... About my teaching Edelgard?
no subject
What do you mean. You chose her. The Black Eagles.
no subject
[And she just shakes her head no. That is not right. Poor broken prince]
Professor Manuela teaches the Black Eagle House.
no subject
[and yet, Byleth would have no reason to lie. unless-- the corners of his mind whisper, her rejection of Edelgard was but a ruse. she's here as a spy. you cannot trust her. his head feels like it's spinning, and his breathing quickens a hitch.
there is a question he needs to know the answer to. and yet, he's afraid to hear it. hostility bleeds into his voice in place of fear.]
Then who did you teach?
no subject
The anger is so blunt. Valid, maybe, but all-encompassing]
You.
no subject
snarling, like a wounded animal,]
Don't lie to me!
no subject
She doesn't understand how this could be happening. How their memories could be so parallel. But Byleth rarely shrinks away]
I'm not lying.
no subject
[he moves to grab her by the throat, anything to force her to reveal her true colours]
no subject
but maybe this Sword of the Creator will validate me ._.??? it's getting swung out regardless]
no subject
there was no faking the glow of that relic. then-- then... revulsion builds up in his throat again. he had just raised his hand against the professor, who had done him no wrong. no matter what his reasons, it was the act of a barbarism.
growling, he shrinks back - hunched over again in a mass of fur and blood, his face in shadow.]
...
no subject
...
[cool, matching self deprecation]
So there will be war.
no subject
Yes.
You will not be there.
